Career Counselor and Career Journeys University Lead

Having devoted much of her professional career and personal time serving the higher education sectors, Yvonne has compiled diverse experiences working with various institutions as a specialist in career and workforce development.

Yvonne holds several degrees: a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC), as well as an M.B.A. with an emphasis in Marketing from Loyola Marymount University (LMU). She has also completed coursework in Social Entrepreneurism, which has enabled her to adapt and apply for-profit business models to non-profit organizations toward optimizing resources, creating efficient systems, and achieving various complex objectives. In addition to her degrees, Yvonne went on to complete a graduate certificate in Career Counseling and Education from California State University, Northridge.

Yvonne has a long standing career in workforce development within higher education institutions. She has served as the Career Development Instructor and Internship Advisor for some of the most talented and creative young minds in the field of Arts and Media at the renowned Art Institute California-Hollywood. She has been the lead PhD/Postdoc career counselor at the California Institute of Technology providing counseling, career programs, and employer relations. She continues her work as the Career Journeys Lead University Career Counselor, where she counsels alumni from Caltech and Scripps College.  Furthermore, Yvonne has worked as the Community Medicine & Public Health Coordinator within the Keck School of Medicine, and has now transitioned into the role as the inter-professional programs coordinator for the USC PA Program. Under this role, she is responsible for implementing programs that would increase the exposure, education, and experience of working within inter-professional care teams for the PA students.

In addition to her university counseling, she also provides career counseling and consultation for employee assistance programs, as well as provides resume writing assistance to the general population.
